First off, I would like to start off my offering my deepest of condolences to you for having to experience what you did as a child.

Second, you being a new poster and all, know that I am hesitant of your post. However... I'm going to treat you with the courtesy I would any "woman" IRL.

Alright... Let's get to what I know. If this guy is anything like me, he won't be making the first move until he knows (for a fact) that he already has you in the bag; that is, if he does fawn over you. It's one thing for a guy (like us) to be a LS male, but It's an entirely different thing if the guy winds up being prone to schizoid tendencies (Appears aloof and detached, avoids social activities that involve emotional intimacy with other people, does not want or enjoy close relationships, even with family members... etc). From what I've read so far (from your post), he's showing all the signs of a LS with schizoid tendencies. If you want to open up a connection on his end, the best way for you to succeed would be to compliment him on something or ask him for his expertise in a field that you know he's confident in. Just know now that none of these are guarantees and that he will more than likely STILL want to disengage and get the heck out of there; It's a lot like claustrophobia. The smaller the space you're in, the more of a panic attack you're going to have.

I hope this helps.

(P.S. ~ If you're real. Thank you. You just gave me the hope I've desperately been searching for.)

Calling Love-Shys 'LSers' was naughty. Really, really, naughty. *tsk, tsk, tsk*

Ask him out, in a gentle and not scary way (someone suggested coffee, this is great, coffee isn't scary^^). If he refuses due to disinterest or LS issues just pack your things and move on to the next guy, who will probably be more likely to pursue you. If you guys do go out, keep an eye out for anything you're not comfortable with (the staring sounds like he could have some issues afoot) and have fun. Either way, good luck!

Ummm, hello? She hasn't logged on since Dec 4. It's highly unlikely she'll still be listening.
