why would you be afraid? honestly I think you are just saying that, there is nothing strange about looking and smiling at a person you find attractive upon first meeting them, everyone does a variation of this subconsciously, you either suppress your interest and become shy or you are open with your interest by looking at them and smiling.

i'd probably be a little afraid too

No girls have shown interest in me, but I guess the closest would be a girl from my Calculus class last year who ran into me walking from class and asked if we could be friends. I actually studied with her a couple times and even one day sat down and had lunch with her when I saw her eating in the dining center. I even asked for her number to set up meeting times. I guess you could say this is the most I've ever done with a female.

I know a few girls liked me, but there's nothing I could do about it anyway.
I'd just like to be "normal".

Looking back, maybe one or two guys. One at uni, but he ended going out with a friend of mine, and another one two years ago but I'm not sure. And according to some friends, the guy I was in love in 2nd year of uni liked me more than he said but couldn't go past my looks, so I don't know. It's always the sad thing, you feel so much like a big pile of crap that unless someone tells you very seriously they like you (which never happened to me), you always find a way to justify the rejection.

I remember a girl I liked very much, she became one of my best friends' girlfriend.
At her boyfriend's birthday party, she was very drunk and told me how much she liked me, how much she missed me (at that time I hadn't seen her for 5 months or so), and how she would hit on me if she hadn't a boyfriend (that's what she did in a sense...).
That was 7 years ago, now she's engaged and barely remember who I am.

There was another girl I liked, my young neighbour (3 years younger than me), I've known her since elementary school.
We spend a whole night together when I was 18, we walk around until dawn. Nothing happend.
A few weeks later her mom told mine that her daughter liked me, and that if I did something that night we would be together. A few month later she had a boyfriend, they are now angaged and have 2 children.

I'm older than you by a few years, but you have been liked 3 more times than I...Wonder what it must feel like to know a girl likes you?

I was only 10/11 then, so I didn't think anything of it. I'm pretty sure nobody's liked me since.
