Ode to "she"

Sometimes I think about her, but she's busy.
She likes to write, and walk. She likes the country.
She seems to see something in me that I can't figure out

She could be versed in country things,
a rabbit patch of hollyhocks, humble daisies and fenceline apple.
fields of tall alfalfa guarded by rough-hewn border stones

Pine gullies bewteen fields with the cool tannin smell between
Blocking the sun and finding whole new worlds within

She's pretty awesome. Likes dogs too.
I wish I could get to know her more and have her come over

Reaching too far, and too quick, and being LS too...
keeps me away from her, and sadly this is something she doesn't want to do

Never had a oneitits, but have had my share of "crushes" over the decades. The woman or girl involved always dropped a HINT very QUICKLY and let me know she:

had a boyfriend or FB
just wanted to be friends

or

insert usually LAME excuse of why she could NEVER, EVER be seen with me in public.
