I walked through a "haunted" abandonded children's hospital once. Unfortunately didn't own a camera at the time.

One of my favourite abandoned places is the old mental hospital 20 kilometres or so from my place of living. A couple of pics. Been there two times so far. Very creepy place with lovely atmosphere of total rust and decay.

Absolutely hypnotic and jaw-droppingly beautiful. I am planning to visit Tenerife pretty soon and I want to climb Pico del Teide desperately. This is your film or made by your friend?

Oh, I wish I could do things like that. It was made by veteran nature photographer/filmmaker Terje Sørgjerd. This guy is my hero. In the description of his last video, he says he sold most of his belongings in order to spend the next two years filming. :worship:

On the topic of abandoned places, guess where this is...

So after losing/finishing my job at the end of November I decided to took some of my savings, left my home and went to Tenerife (Canary Islands) for one week. Being the person who enjoys travelling (visited around 30 foreign countries since my childhood) I found impossible to spent one year without travelling. My main goal was to climb the third highest volcano in the world Pico del Teide. So I went to Tenerife and spent some quality time there. My mood changed as I changed environement. I was peaceful, calm, relaxed and happy. Visited Santa Cruz, Puerto de la Cruz, Los Gigantes, Garachico, Teide National Park, Adeje, Los Cristianos, etc. Saw dolphins, orcas, dragon trees, seas of lava, majestic volcanic cliffs, Teide crater, etc. My next goal is to visit Lanzarote.

Some of the pics I took:

I lived near a prominent UE landmark, an abandoned mental hospital, at the time of its demise in 2005 i did not have the means to get there even though it was literally 15 minutes away by wheels. kinda a shame.

This one quite moves me. I'm not sure why. Is it because it's so melancholy? Would you guys even describe it as such?

The silhouette of the little girl tells me that the place used to be bright. And now it's pure decay.

Now I'm sad. You owe me a strawberry milkshake, Small Pink Blob.

I often do not take pictures of the places I frequent. The images remain in my head alone.
