Since Cenobite and Apparition have posted samples of their writings, I just thought I'd check how many writers there are among us.

By "writers" I'm referring to novelists, poets and the like, not other kinds of writers such as journalists, copywriters or programmers.

I used to write many poems. I also have written few short stories. Never published 'em, though.

I am planning to write more stories in the future.

Wealth and power are means to women; women are means to genetic eternity.

Likewise, deep in the mind of modern woman is the same hunter-gatherer calculator, too recently evolved to have changed much: strive to acquire a provider husband who will invest food and care in your children; strive to find a lover who can give those children first-class genes. Doesn’t matter how brave you are, how reserved, or how much you’ve developed a sense of humor, you still end up with your heart broken. That’s when you stop laughing. In the end there’s just the cold, the silence and the loneliness. In the end, there’s only death." - Houellebecq

Yup. Unpublished, though. I haven't even finished my first novel after ten years of writing it. But, hopefully that will change when I get a new job and have more time on my hands.

i've tried writing screenplays. i'm not patient enough though. I rarely finish anything if there's no deadline or consequence for not finishing it. Get distracted too easily. I'd love to write successful screenplays but I'd also love to be a professional soccer player

Used to be a decent writer in school. Somewhere along the way I lost the passion for it.

I loved writing stories as a kid, studied Professional Writing in undergrad uni, wrote loads of poems, screenplays, and stories. I have only ever had one poem published. I have in the last few years somewhat lost the fire and passion for it, due to depression, and haven't written creatively in several years.

Unpublished too. Wrote a novel divided in three, a fantasy thingy I started to write to be relieved of all the difficult stuff I felt when I was younger. I still feel them sometimes so I kept writing but not that novel even if it's not finished. It's on a website and people comment and all, that's encouraging. I write bits of texts, unfinished, quite short, about things I just need to get out now. Love writing my blog too even if of course it's more superficial, but I so need it to vent and rant and all.

I have written poetry (mediocre), short stories (meh...), and novels ( ), but not yet published anything. My novels are part of a trilogy of fantasy novels chronicling the journey of a love-shy knight and a female elf. It's a long story to be sure; I have written the first, second and the beginning of the third. Then I returned to the first and revised it. I have one more chapter to go before I start the revisions of the second one. Another novel is entitled Neo-Imperialism and concerns humans basically enslaving aliens. It is in the first that I have invested by far the most of my time and energy. I hope the former will help bring awareness of love-shys to the world and make fantasy a serious academic genre simultaneously.

I've written a few songs, including some about being shy. I've recorded them for my own interest but haven't tried to get the published
