Well what is it?

Downloaded for free doesn't count. Real buyers remorse here. An album you spent money on only to realize it was horrible.

Here's mine. Simple Plan's "No pads, no helmets, just balls." Complete with such masterpieces as Perfect, I'm just a kid, and I'd do anything.

I was 12 I think. But even back then I recognized they really sucked at playing instruments. Even the song I liked I couldn't help but notice the really terrible guitar player. I think I listened to it for a month at best before declaring it shit and never opening it again. It's still somewhere in my CD collection.

I never throw anything out, and I've got a huuuge CD collection. Over 600 at present, I think. Been collecting for many years. There isn't really anything I'm embarrassed by. There is some teenage angst stuff I've mostly grown out of (nu metal stuff like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, etc). But hey, everyone was listening to that when I was in my senior year in high school ,cut me some slack. Actually, I do think LP have some talent. They're good at what they do.

I don't really feel embarrassed by stuff I used to be heavily into. My taste just expands and grows as I get older. I find myself going back to old favourites every now and again. Going through a bit of a grunge throwback at the moment, and digging out my Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Soundgarden CDs again.

BTW, Simple Plan are horrible. Yech. Even back then, I thought they were terrible.

I was exceptionally unimpressed with the album Day and Age by The Killers. I thought their first album was really good, and their second was quite good, but with that third effort I think they simultaneously tried to change their sound (to something inferior, in my opinion) and ran out of ideas. The result was an album where every song sounded the same, and they all sounded nothing like The Killers.

I bought that CD in early 1993 by that silly rapper "Snow" and it had that one-hit-wonder single "Informer" I spent sixteen bux for it, and I was really let down. What a terrible album.

I don't know if it's truly a bad album as it might more reflect my tastes:

But I had heard Cult of Personality by Living Colour and thought this album would have been a lot better than it was:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivid_%28album%29

I listened to it a couple of times and found it a chore, as to my memory there were a lot of really repetitive parts and most of the songs were a snoozefest.

If I remember right only Cult of Personality and Open Letter to a Landlord were songs that I found listenable and the rest I just never bothered with ever again. I have no idea where the album is, probably floating around in some box somewhere, but in general I don't buy many bad albums as I often will get some samples first.

LOL Chak! I remember that stupid single "Glamor Boys" from this album. When the University of Vermont had a "student takeover" during the spring of 1991...Living Color gave a free concert to "support the cause" I went, and it was a really lame show. Living Color did have a funny single from 1992 called "Everybody loves you when you're bi"

Disclaimer...this is only about the album and who sang the tunes, NOT the band they were covering. As I'm a big Beatles fan.

I don't know if this qualifies as a worse album, the tunes were OK just who I thought would be singing them, wasn't singing them.
More like a disappointment then the worse album.

I was in Wal-Mart one day and was looking in the 'Beatles' section. I am a fan of the fab four. I see something like their greatest hits. I think to myself oh, this should be good...hits of the Beatles. But, I didn't read the fine print at the bottom in my excitement.

I get home, thinking this will be good, pop it in. Watered down orchestrated versions of songs like 'Let It Be' and 'She Loves You' start to play from my stereo. I think, this sure doesn't sound like them, is 'digitally remastered' really this bad? I look at the CD case just to make sure, that's when I noticed it...'The Beatles Hits...sung by the stars at Studio 99!!'

Good album all the same but more of a let down than the worse album I bought.

Other than that, I can't think of any. I always make sure I know what I'm buying after that incident when I shell out cash for CDs.
I look for 'Original Recordings' or else I just download music so I know what I'm getting.

I've bought albums before and maybe one or two songs were catchy hits, the rest was shit. I remember purchasing the albums just for that one (or two) hits.

This was before I caught on to downloading and selecting the songs I wanted to download.

I remember buying Splinter by The Offspring, and thinking it was the worst thing ever made in the history of music. It was like being aurally raped for a half hour.

I also bought Speak by Lindsay Lohan, but I was under no impression that it would be good, so I don’t really think that counts.

Yeah, before the days of downloading, I'd do this too. I'd buy an entire album for just one or two hit songs. The rest turned out to be crap.

I bought a Ray Davies cd recently, in a similar situation. It was him, and it was Kinks songs, but they were horrible modern remakes of them.

My uncle bought what he thought was a Supremes disc recently. It turns out it was some cover band butchering the songs of the Supremes. LOL  My uncle left the disc at a bus stop, for some unlucky chap to find (Wow, I've scored a free Supremes CD!)

All right ....fess up....who bought the Milli Vanilli album? I did and bought the video and three singles to boot only to find out that IT WASN'T THE GUYS WE SAW DANCING IN THE VIDEOS SINGING ON THE ALBUM!!!
FACTOID: Milli Vanilli is the only music artist(s) to ever be stripped of their Grammy award.
