Currently using OSX Lion because I've got a macbook. Only ever used Windows before and I'm liking this OS. Sure, there are problems, there always are, so the preferences are mainly superficial. Also, Apple's iWork suite is much cheaper and you don't have to buy them all. I've downloaded Pages at around 14 quid, instead of spending 100 on Office (which is already installed on PCs but needs to be 'activated'), Just for Word, but get Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook which I hardly use.

Microsoft programmes are fucking overpriced PANTS.

 So true.

I just use whatever is best for the specific situation/ease of use. Fluidity and willingness to move with trends and advances is my inclination.

Windows 7 mostly, but with odd helping of Linux here and there. I have a minimial install of Debian Stable with openbox and most of the applications compiled from source that I give a whirl every now and then.

At work, I do everything on Red Hat.

Oh wow, didnt even realize i was making a religious thread. im really surprised that this many people voted "not windows". as for previous comments about configuration being required this is not exactly 100% true to the extent most would believe. any fresh system install is gonna either require some configuration or additional software installation (being a notorious distro hopper i would know this). From my point of view (what i use a computer for) many linux distros actually install with "less fucking around required". such as mint, fedora, opensuse, and pc-bsd (not linux, but a preconfigured FreeBSD with almost everything you would need). all these are in the a similar "level of readiness out of box" as Windows or OS X (imo) but this dose not mean it is, just for my style of use. i like to program and do virtualization so most OS's are not ready out of box for this. i feel that all the system's mentioned here would be suitable for a "N00B" to start getting tech savvy. not trying to knock anyone's preference or start a jihad (im the only one who voted BSD so all of you could gang up on me and make me cry). windows 7 actually isnt that bad (compared to previous versions), its just not for me.

Highscores: 5
Windows Vista.

A lot of people may say it's crap and such, but I don't have much of a problem using it, and see no reason to upgrade to Windows 7 and/or the upcoming Windows 8 for now. And no reason to downgrade to XP either.

All that matters in using an operating system is using whatever works for you. I respect that some may not like X and so upgrade to Y or whatever because it's not as error-prone as X.
