Sorry I just don't have much faith anymore, especially after my neighbor was murdered in his yard a short time ago, less than 100 feet from my bedroom.

Understandable, I don't deny that there's plenty of evidence to rightfully distrust humanity. Either position is correct as far as I'm concerned. Sounds like an awful place to live in, to say the least.
