For some reason this was in the "related videos" for one of girlwriteswhat's updates. Go figure. :? Anyway, it's interesting. A lot of these themes are developed at length in the comics but still.

Midnight showing I will be wearing my Batman shirt and belt buckle. Might even post a picture of myself out here.

The midnight showings are almost sold out here.....I'm inclined to buy a ticket, but I'm not sure I want to go that late. I did for Avengers, but that was a last-minute decision.

So I'm so psyched about the film that I'm seriously considering watching it in IMAX. Meaning that I'll have to travel all the way to Cardiff, the nearest cinema to me that has showings in the format. It'll cost over 50 quid for a return ticket on the train. 12 for the ticket itself. Not to mention concessions. Am I seriously thinking of this? Would it be worth it? I'm kinda thinking, yeah.

I'll definitely seeing this in Imax, but I'm gonna wait at least a week or two until after it's released.

The IMAX version of this is a whopping 600 lbs (270kg) of film!

This definitely has to be watched in IMAX, since almost an hour of the movie was filmed in that format.

Yup. It was just as fan-bleedin'-tastic as I knew it would be. And more.

Seriously, I was not disappointed by anything in the film and was even surprised a couple of times. Sure, if you know the comics, you know certain things, but when you're watching it, you're not thinking about the comics. In fact, Batman barely appears in it. It's more about Bruce. But you don't care. It doesn't feel like a comic book movie. At all.

The film has connections to both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight with the plots of both having a bearing on the story. But it's done in such a natural way that it never seems forced. Everything flows from each point and forms a very neat (if still rather open) ending to the trilogy.

The rest, I need to put in spoiler tags

Spoiler: show
So, yes, Bane does break the Bat's back, but it still surprised me. I haven't read the story it happened in, so I can't comment on the similarities, but I was sure it would be done at the end. It happened in their very first fight!

But it was the ending that was the best. If you know your comics, then you know that with the Bat gone, someone has to take up the mantle. And that someone is another one of the surprises that I'm loath to say even within these tags.

Oh, and forget Michelle Pfeiffer. Anne Hathaway is Catwoman (though, never referred to by that name)

Those of you planning to see the film in IMAX, make sure you see it in true IMAX. That is in a theater that has the 70mm film project and the appropriate size screen. The so-called IMAX theaters that were recently added to some of the chains such as AMC have screen that aren't much bigger that regular screens and use digital projectors.

I saw it....and I'm still collecting my thoughts on it lol. I didn't like it as much as TDK, but that's a damn high bar to set. I think I liked this about as much as I liked Batman Begins, maybe slightly more/less...it's a close call. I will say that Tom Hardy's Bane was an awesome villain, and I'm sick of all the criticism he's getting. He was the best damn part of the movie and a worthy successor to Ledger's Joker. Hathaway's Catwoman was good too.

I think my main complaint about it was that the plot was hard to follow...I had that problem with Batman Begins too (with regards to its second half), but not as much as with this film. And how the hell did
Spoiler: show
Batman get back into Gotham City after the government closed it off
?

I actually had that problem the first time I saw The Dark Knight, but after subsequent viewings it all came together and made perfect sense to me. I'll probably wait two weeks or so to see Rises, when the crowds are much smaller.

I'm hoping that we'll get extended editions or alternate versions of the 3 films on blu-ray in the future.

Finally went to see it, and just like with The Dark Knight it was excellent. Almost sad that Nolan, Bale & co won't return for another one as they did a great job with this trilogy.

Meh. I saw TDK and TDKR, and honestly would say - long good movies, but not as enjoyable for me, as the old ones. I liked that one with the catwoman and the Penguin. (Batman returns?)

Heh, does anybody think that Penguin is so angry and bitter 'cause he is incel? I mean, I used to look like him (somewhat, except for the nose and old age) and oh my, was it annoying and irritating. :banghead: Kinda feel sorry for him.
I guess this movie just adds to the stereotype "ugly=angry=frustrated=evil=not sexy=incel=stay away from it". :?

Also, shall we discuss the Colorado movie theater shooter? Maybe he was LS, too. Or just a loonie? :?
