C'mon folks, post your reviews here and don't be ashamed...this is an incel forum so I KNOW there's Spidey fans here.

I generally liked it.....it was quite different from the Raimi films...not necessarily better or worse. Really, it was different from any version of Spidey I've seen....movies, cartoons, comics, video games, etc. By that, I mean it was fairly dark and gritty, but still faithful to the source material. I had a hard time buying Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (though I liked him as Spider-Man), but the rest of the cast was quite good. They did a good job of setting up the sequel.

What did everyone else think?

Haven't seen it yet, but one problem, *a* problem for me that is, will be that I will draw comparisons against the Sam Raimi Spider-Mans. ;o That's probably inevitable though. The trailer looked fine, but sure I will reserve judgment until I see it. His suit looks more leathery than Tobey Maguire's more cloth based suit. Will be neat to see the difference.

lol! I had the reverse with the Raimi Spider-Man's! Tobey was a fine Peter Parker, but a pretty lame Spider-Man, and Kirsten Dunst made a pretty shitty MJ IMHO. I have yet to see the reboot yet.

Unnecessary. Do we really need to see Spidey's origin story again? It's not as if the Raimi movies are ancient history. The last one was only five years ago! Reboots and reimaginings are inevitable, but at least wait 30 years or so. Hollywood thinks their audience have really short term memories. Maybe they're right.

Casino Royale- Bond reboot only four years after Die Another Day
Star Trek (2009)- Reboot only four years after a previous attempt at a prequel/reboot ended (Star Trek Enterprise)
Incredible Hulk- reboot of Ang Lee's Hulk only a few years prior

I think they should at least let some time pass, before doing yet another origin story.

I tend to agree with you about the reboots. The new "Superman Returns" was a dud. :check:

However, I did like the new "Star Trek" with Chris Pine as "Kirk". The Enterprise looked pretty awesome in its outward design, as long as you didn't know what the inside of a beer manufacturing facility looked like, in the NCC-1701's "engine room".

Four replies, and not a single one is a review

I don't even necessarily disagree that it was too soon for a reboot, but there's no point in arguing that since the movie's out now...

Cant give a review of Spidey until we see it. I doubt there will be many places today that wont be sold out till Midnight.

Lots of people are doing "stay-cations", what with jobs still leaving and the recession that is still ongoing, and not likely going away very soon so the movie theaters are making hay like crazy,

I've never been in a beer facility, but I did pick up on that too. Something was definitely off with the look of that. Didn't really have that interstellar spaceship engineering section feel to it. O_o

I liked what the actor did with Peter Parker. Usually they make him a sexy geek type, but this time he was quirky and strange. This made him more likeable to me.

I loved the girl who played Gwen Stacey, but though she looks 16, her mannerisms are a tad more mature. LOVELY green eyes though, the kind I always dreamed of having.

I found the villain a but underwhelming.

Oh, sweet irony...the first person to respond with an actual review is a woman....

Haven't seen "The Amazing Spiderman" yet, but it sounds pretty good. In the original 1960's comics, Peter Parker was never a really a "geek" or a "nerd", per se and he and Mary Jane Watson lived together, before their marriage.

I must point out that in the old comics, P-P had to invent a device that sprayed his webs from his wrists; it was not an innate feature after having been bitten by the radioactive spider that gave him his super-strength, the ability to cling to and climb vertical surfaces and his famous "spider-senses".

OK, STBLS, I saw "The Incredible Spiderman". It was mediocre compared to the original series with Tobey Maguire, IMO.

Not a bad show, since it did stick to the original comic-book characters' traits, but it lacked any kind of romance like the original series, and the "bad-guy" was unimpressive to say the least. I liked William DaFoe as "The Green Goblin" much better.
