107 seems quite low. I think the healthy average is around 120/70 or so? well, better to be low than high.

It is a little low for the average person but not for me. 120/80 is the baseline the docs use. Mine has always been lower then normal. In fact, I always know what it is, as a blood donor. It was that low way back in the late 1970's, when I first donated.

Its a good thing too becuase the new laws for commerical drivers are cracking down hard on high blood pressures. Some drivers have had to quit because they are not allowed to drive rigs anymore, with 140/90 but less than 160/100 is now in the danger zone with restrictions and limits, like no hauling hazardous materials and other types of more dangerous driving.

Over that, they pull your medical card unless you can lower it somehow, which means your Class A heavy vehicle license is usless, although you can still drive a car/pickup or a smaller delivery truck under 26000 pounds GVW with no air brakes.

I can go months without it at will but it does effect me.

Honestly it's the constant stream of sexual images that causes people to relapse. You go on the internet and guaranteed within 5-10 minutes there's something that will send you spiralling towards your favorite wanking site.

I can't blame anyone that does this or gets addicted. What other outlet do they have? For men like me with insanely high sex drives it's incredibly hard to ignore it (it took me a long time to reach the point where I am at now and even then it requires a lot of discipline).

I had to go without for a week once when I had a terrible case of the flu. Let's just say I made up for lost time in a few days. It takes a lot of mental power to fight back that urge. Personally, I see no reward for holding out.

it seems impossible near the start, because you kinda assume a constant increase in urges. but after the first few days, it evens out and stops getting harder, for the most part. libido can even die entirely at points. mood swings and stuff can happen. yesterday was only day 3, but I was feeling pretty good during the day then got a bit depressed at night.

Quitting has done nothing for me. It was easy enough. I got short intense urges every now and then but that's it. I'm since returning to semi-regular use, however going to avoid it becoming an everyday occurrence. I think regular use was more beneficial actually. With quitting my sex drive essentially disappeared, although it's been almost nonexistent for many months now. I suppose I should re-hit the gym and see if that can't kickstart it again.

Again, I'm not trying to martyr myself for trying to kick my porn addiction. What's bothered me the most about my constant viewing, is that I started becoming less and less attracted to "real" women. I just no-longer wish to no live comfortably numb in my fantasies, for some porn is an escape, I abused that escape, and it became a prison.

This is interesting and makes potential sense, though I didn't look to far into the studies there.

One of the reasons I try to keep even my thoughts and fantasies relatively pure, is I suspect in the brain's evolutionary reward system that forming a direct repeated connection between 'extreme pleasure of sex/orgasm + harmful subject matter" could potentially create a bad feedback loop somewhere leading the brain down a slippery slope. In that sense, i suspect people who say 'oh it's just fantasy, it's harmless' are probably going to be proven wrong if they are not already as the primitive brain doesn't fully distinguish those things to my knowledge.

As for porn, I have gone months without. I don't find it ethically appealing and the fact that in most people are paid to fuck like the guys are being these pseudo buff faceless aggressive alpha male douche types, making lame 'faux dominating' faces and the women attempting to put on fake sexy 'acts,' I find this all very unattractive. Attractive women, clothed or naked, touching, sex in general is all attractive, but the vast majority of what porn is, is like a different world as to what sex means to me.

I realize that porn forms most of people's sexual education now, and serves as a form of training to children as to what socially normative sexual behavior is, but unfortunately for me, I don't think it's fundamentally what I want to do with women, even if that's what they want do to biological or cultural influence.

Actually rather than having much of a slippery slope, it's usually like caressing/massaging/teasing women either physically or psychologically that I find most attractive. The idea of caressing a woman and having her writhing about in pleasure and building up to full on sex, is basically my number one fantasy. To me that is more sexy than some faceless alpha douchebag 'pumping' into a fake slut like a piston. I could probably actually completely do without porn and not get tempted from loneliness if I had a real life partner to share my fantasies with.

It could be that I discipline myself, and thus it's an almost 'kindness' that I find the most attractive because I have not desensitized myself to it with casual sex or endless escalating porn. For me sex where people are really good to each other and care deeply about each has never lost it's 'novelty.' For the most part, I am lucky that I have managed to keep my sexual interests mostly aligned with my belief systems as I do value the reduced cognitive dissonance and/or prevention of over stimulating the reward/pleasure center of the brain, in relation to potentially harmful subject matter real or imagined. The reward/pleasure center is just too powerful and primitive of a part of the human psyche for me to feel completely comfortable messing with it without some well intentioned guidelines, even if no one is directly being harmed.

I go through periods where I watch a lot of porn and then quit effortlessly without any concerted effort. I've never at any point had problems with getting aroused by real life women. But I guess you can say that I've never been addicted to porn. I must jack off once a day though

porn doesn't solve that problem... it pushes dopamine into the visual reward system which is fine when a guy is actually seeing a real naked chick ... the reward
is for getting the chick alone and naked and ready to have sex... it assumes social and seduction skills which don't exist when porn is concerned

there are also pathways in the brain which only fire when real sex is occuring and doesn't occur at all with porn... all porn does is feed the visual reward
system which is dangerous if you have lower levels of dopamine to start with

there is also the dissonance ... porn lets you pretend you're an alpha but in the real world if you're incel then you're sexless... it lets you know what you're
missing but actually takes away from you ever getting it... quitting porn is about dopamine

Darwin, do you know of any natural ways to raise dopamine (without using stimulants)?

exercise... higher protein diet and lowering body fat... there is a link between estrogenic-like compounds and dopamine-like receptor
activity though it hasn't been studied in men (only women)

You know you have a problem when you don't want to watch it anymore, because it does nothing for you. It bores you, depression kicks in.
Also, I was the perverted one from the beginning (even before any kind of porn, just in my head), vanilla stuff doesn't turn me on, it is pleasant to look at, but not arousing to me at all. Being a kinko perv is a punishment of itself, let alone an LS one. :(

The velvet bean, or fava bean contains 15 percent L-Dopa which is converted to Dopamine.

You can make a salad with it and use your favorite dressing, eating them raw or you can
steam cook them to eat, but they are not very tasty so you will need to use butter, salt or
some other spice to make it platible to consume regularly.

If you cook it you will destroy much of the L-Dopa, which is why you need to eat them
raw or steamed, not cooked.

Most markets have them on hand in the ethnic sections because they are popular with
people of southern Europe or the Latin cultures, and not so with most caucasians or
peoples of northern European white ancestry.

After eating lots of beans, you will be so full of dopamine, that you will start to fart it out of your ass!
Are you attracted to my manly aroma, babe? Pheromone is fear-gone! :worship:

Fava beans do not give me gas. Other more common beans do.

Nice joke I did get that, Yagami.
