I've noticed that there are a lot of luxury cars for sale cheap in the U.S.. You can get a used Jaguar, BMW, or Mercedes for less than you might spend on a new Toyota, and if you can spend more a Maserati, or a Ferrari might be within reach.

If you need a car anyway, it might be worth buying one that will appeal to the lesser sex.

I admit a nice car would be a boost on my confidence. I know it doesn't mean anything to some, however I see it as having confidence and status. I never had a rich mommy and daddy to get me a nice car to begin with so I have to settle with a regular outdated car whereas I could have better and be more confident with my parents help. However, they help in in other ways though they never ever helped me socially.

However, from where I am at those luxury cars are still damned expensive.

But where's the sense in buying a cheap car if it's going to break down every 40 miles? Wouldn't the girl become annoyed by that?

Alternatively, conform with the PUA way of thinking. Purchase an old Supermini model of some kind (I'm not sure what you have in the US; over here, something like a Ford Focus), and then illegally modify it into a gas-guzzling 200mph supercar. If you need inspiration, go buy a copy of one of the Need for Speed: Underground games, and have a play around. To use the language usually associated with such "players", the chicks will dig a motor like that.

used "luxury" cars are cheap for a reason. The cost of ownership can be incredibly high, and people who can afford it tend to buy newer. Not just any mechanic can work under the hood of most European cars - there is a lot of specialized labor involved that can make minor repairs quite pricey, and some of those models are notoriously unreliable (though not all). As for the Italian cars, forget it. You will probably have to rely on a dealer (if there is one near you) and expect to similar to the original price paid for the car for routine "servicing". This dynamic creates something of a niche, enthusiast market for the used models - people who love the cars enough to put up with the pain of owning them out of warranty.

If you want a "luxury" brand you might as well stick with the Japanese names (Lexus, Infiniti, Acura) which tend to not be that different from their non-luxury counterparts when it comes to repairs. Of course, those names don't carry the same "prestige" as Mercs/BMW's but they also don't carry the same snob factor.

as EC said , luxurious cars are expensive to live with. You cannot afford the gas, servicing and other things in those cars. But for people who canot afford bmw or mercedes I recommend audi as a compensation. İt is reliable, cheaper to care and as luxurious as Mercedes or BMW. But also you should think about the appeal of the car, whether or not you want to drive it.If you are not attracted to the car dont go for it.

Cars ..... nowadays in my country quite a lot of people could afford to buy second hand lets say BMW 5, or 7 series (10 and more years old) .... or at least 3 series, or similar .... even second hand BMW 850 is not out of league as a price :P . These are definitely nice cars ....

I drive a very sweet sport turbo Volvo. Prior to that, I drove a gorgeous antique show car for many years. That car in particular attracted HEAPS of male attention (it was also very FAST), but generally without the intended results: I merely end up driving the guys around, or they want to borrow my car, go on a mini-vacation, and give me the gas bills. I even allowed one guy to do a photo shoot with the antique car, and got nothing in return.

A notable exception was a man who excitedly asked me out, proclaiming I was absolutely the most beautiful smart amazing woman EVER, picked me up in a Porsche, and brought roses. Too good to be true, hmm? Unfortunately, there was a later revelation that he already had a girlfriend and was seeking another. As in, two women concurrently. Not for me.

Cars won't do it, folks. Sorry. Tried it!

I’ve never wanted a luxury car. They seem too high maintenance, and lead to other displays of superficial excess that I want no part of. The most important factor when considering a car to me is gas mileage. In the future, I plan to own a small compact sedan that sips gas, and also a small pickup that behaves similarly but also has four-wheel drive. If I am wealthy (which I plan to be) I might get a broken down car from the ‘60s, mostly because I’ve always wanted to fix up a car, and would be a fun project. The end result, however, is that a Camry or Tacoma will not get you laid, and a Camaro probably won’t either unless it’s 1978 and drugs are involved. Girls being impressed with the kind of car you drive sounds so '70s to me for some reason, and I doubt that it has any bearing today. Meh.

I have never understood how a car was supposed to impress me......... it has wheels...........?

Um yeah I would be the one who doesn't drive and would be lucky to notice the colour of a car....... The brand........... not likely.

Cars have their origin in carriages, carriages have their origin in horses - women love horses. This is why cars are measured in horse power. Horsepower = juice dripping for women.

Nice - luxury/sports/big cars certainly attracts women, at least the more shallow part of them :) .

I'm more a fan of muscle cars ( and I love cars in the color), I wonder how most of the women feel about them?
1970 Chevrolet Nova, 1969 Dodge Charger, 1970 Dodge Challengerand 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 that are cars that I love.^^

However, my experience is, that most of my female friends either don't like to drive (scared like hell on highways, when it gets fast) and just drive a small car, or they love motorbikes and own one (one even meets up with a motorcycle club every year xD )

But I do drive a black Toyota Yaris now, so nothing that could make a woman go "wow" xD
