Well, round of 16 was drawn in December and it doesn't start till February but what the hell... Who might win?

These are the pairs

Round of 16 draw
Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) v APOEL FC (CYP)
SSC Napoli (ITA) v Chelsea FC (ENG)
AC Milan (ITA) v Arsenal FC (ENG)
FC Basel 1893 (SUI) v FC Bayern München (GER)
Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) v FC Barcelona (ESP, holders)
PFC CSKA Moskva (RUS) v Real Madrid CF (ESP)
FC Zenit St Petersburg (RUS) v SL Benfica (POR)
Olympique de Marseille (FRA) v FC Internazionale Milano (ITA)

I think Madrid will be the winners this year though it's early to tell

What would you have done if you are Hitler in 1940?

Who do I think will win? Real Madrid.
Who do I want to win? Barcelona.
Who would I hate if they win? Inter, Arsenal or Chelsea.
Who would I be okay if they win? Bayern. Undecided about Milan.
The rest? Probably don't have a chance in hell. Stranger things have happened, though.

I'd say Barcelona, but there are some good teams there.

Barcelona. It's hard to believe they won't put every effort into becoming the first holders to keep the trophy in more than 20 years. As hard as it is to think that Mourinho won't do the same to finally find the key to breaking them.

I'm obligated to say Milan. But it'll probably be Barca. As long as it's not some damn english team I'm pretty happy.

Anybody else want to predict the outcome of the first knockout round? Many ties are kind of straightforward, but we might be in for a few upsets. The most interesting tie should be Arsenal-Milan, closely followed by Napoli-Chelsea.

Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) v APOEL FC (CYP)
SSC Napoli (ITA) v Chelsea FC (ENG)
AC Milan (ITA) v Arsenal FC (ENG)
FC Basel 1893 (SUI) v FC Bayern München (GER)
Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) v FC Barcelona (ESP, holders)
PFC CSKA Moskva (RUS) v Real Madrid CF (ESP)
FC Zenit St Petersburg (RUS) v SL Benfica (POR)
Olympique de Marseille (FRA) v FC Internazionale Milano (ITA)

I hope all of the Italian teams prove me wrong, given that Napoli, Milan and Marseille are actually favorites at the bookies right now. I have a bad feeling about those ties, though.

Inter.

See if I get the same kind of result that I had in the World Cup thread :p

[For those who don't know, I correctly predicted spain would beat Holland in the Final.]

I still think Madrid will win, even if they recently lost to Barça 1-2. Hoping for Barça to prevail, though. And if Arsenal somehow flukes a final, let alone a win, I'll be on suicide watch. Chelsea might take me there, too.

It's hard to argue against Barcelona apart from the fact that no team has won back to back titles in 20 years. They are my prediction to win. My dark horse is Napoli, especially if Edinson Cavani keeps up his Champions League form. Oh and I would rather see Arsenal win the Champions League than Chelsea or either of the eliminated Manchesters.

Milan - Arsenal tomorrow. If Arsenal wins, or even ties that game, I'm going to be very, very upset. The worst part is, now I see it as the likely outcome.
