thread necromance, btw, in case people are directly replying to the OP.

we have a lot of polish working over here in physical labour. say what you want about them, but they know how to work hard. dont think it's helping the job shortage though.

I don't know if you would consider it Malady, but there are also plenty of Polish people in Ireland. Maybe it would be something to think about.

I think it might be because Polish people have been present in America for many decades. For instance, I know that my grandmother's grandfather spent twenty or thirty years working in the States and fared well there.
But on the other hand, Italians and the Irish are a lot more ingrained in American culture, so this may not be an explanation. I never heard about any racism towards the Ukrainians in the US, it must be a pretty regional thing, is it?

Anyway, I heard about the Polish jokes. As you are 55, you must have encountered at least some of them. Are they still in use?

No. I have not heard any Polish jokes in years, to be honest, but I did as a youth.

Most racial jokes these days involve Mexican illegals crossing the border and the like.

There are also still too many racial Jokes about Black people for my tastes. Racism is
alive and well in the US, but I have heard lots of jokes about women, in general to be fair.

I do not consort in such behaviors myself, although its quite common to hear it in my trade.
