So I just read this kinda interesting article that says that male fruit flies are prone to medicating lack of sex with alcohol.

It's just a short one, easy to read. Hell, there is even a video of a male fruit fly being rejected by a female.

I felt that I could really relate to this study because I often use psychoactive substances(although in my case it's weed, not alcohol) to self-medicate my lack of sex.
What I was wondering is, how many of you are in the same boat as me? Do any of you use drugs or alcohol to lessen the pain of sexual frustration? If so, what?

Well I take nicotine, I'm a smoker and yes my smoking increases under the influence of sexual frustration / deprivation (pussy issues as I prefer to call them ). I used to try and drink the problem away. Now I just smoke. Alcohol sucks.

I have been known to myself to use alcohol to medicate other other issues, hyper-anxiety ones, not over do it mind you. Just take advantage of the sedative mood it puts me in to keep me from appearing overly shifty when I had to have an important meeting with people trying to say my agitation is indicative of something other than being afraid. Or come home after a stressful days and take a few swigs. It helps.

I drink a lot. I'm hoping it will someday either kill me or kill my sex drive, either one is fine.

I use drugs to escape my reality all the time. i use alcohol(2-3 nights a week of binge drinking), cannabinoids(every day, ussully multiple times), benzodiazepines(less than the first 2) and the occasional narcotics(opiates/barbituates).

yea im into downers, they make my life a little better.

i also use tobacoo products and drink beer daily(not to get drunk, just to clench my thirst)

Clean for years now...even dropped the cigarettes.....and if I can quit, anybody can.

Do miss that beautiful, tingly rush from cocaine at times though.........

Not against drugs, against the abuse of them and the havoc addiction puts people through.
