I recently got the game for PS3, and it's awesome. The campaign is short but sweet, and the multiplayer...woah. I have MW3 as well, but BF3 is much better. Overall I think BF3 and the recent Medal of Honor game (freaking sweet game, btw) are both superior online experiences to COD (although I do have several COD games, it's just getting samey).

Anyone here play BF3 online? Co-op or competitive. My name is 'domester82' if anyone wants to versus me. I play quite often

So tired of BF3, SC2, LFD2, and everything else waiting for D3. Longest 2 weeks ever.

Campaign disappointed me story wise, but the realism in the cut-scenes, sound design, and graphics, was fuckin magical.

I'm on 360, but I'm over it by now. Kinda burnt out on games I have to think about, so I've relapsed and been mindlessly playing halo.

I've gotten worse as I age. I jump from game to game (sometimes only playing each for 10 minutes at most). In the end, like you, I go back to something old school like Doom2. To be honest, a great game doesn't need the best graphics. I feel like BF3 with its bloom effects and other "graphical eye candy" is just proof that modern games are just bench-marking tools for GPUs.

Currently, this is my favorite parody for what I am describing. Old school is where it is at; sadly, if it doesn't play like CoD then it's "too boring" or confusing or some other bullshit.

That's hilarious stuff, Xanatos!

Sadly, Doom offers more exploration and non-linearity than Call of Duty. And that's a worry, considering the former is nearly twenty years old!

Anyone here good at online games? lol. I can get kills in most online shooters, and do quite well on the scoreboards, but I absolutely suck at getting kill streaks. I can get one or two kills in a row, then boom, I'm dead. I wonder how these guys get insane kill combos. Camping? What are some tips to stay alive? My K/D ratio is hilarious at the end of the match, usually. (20 kills to 34 deaths or something, hehe)

Also, the trailer for COD Black Ops 2 actually intrigued me (don't kill me). At least they're trying something new with the time period this time around. People wanted a change, they got it. And they're still complaining. It is indeed the same hoary old engine yet again, though. But I actually prefer Treyarch to IW (again, don't kill me). Their games experiment more with place and setting, and seem more fun to me. I enjoyed the campaigns in WaW and Black Ops. IW will just release MW4 next, just you watch.

Which one? Reach? Combat Anniversary Evolved?

I had played all the mainstream Halo games, and then I saw Halo Wars and decided to give my first console RTS game a try. I have enjoyed it so far.
