Also, just watched the Jubilee concert and I lolled at will.i.am calling her your highness  The whole point of this Jubilee is that she HASN'T been her highness for 60 years.

The title is meaningless, agreed, but if she had any real power (like I voted to give her) she would be a far better leader than any of the crap we got at the mo.

Is Prince Charles still next in line, or was he "disqualified" when he divorced Diana?

what the hell has she ever done to deserve any respect??

It is rather lame than Britain still has a monarchy in this day and age. why should taxes go to paying for a family for no other reason than being born into that family?
I am all for the abolishment of monarchy where ever it still remains, even if the monarchy is ceremonial.

I've notified the Queen about the comment you've made and she wasn't very happy.

You poor ignorant serf!
The fact that the Queen (peace be upon her) even exists on this Earth is a blessing for the whole of humanity.
She comes from a special divinely approved lineage that has been given sanction by God himself to watch over all of the unworthy sinful peasants, like us.

Given the state of this planet, a humongous mess at present, the status of the royal family in the UK is the least of our concerns, IMO.

At least my taxes are not paying for them so why should I, or any of us who are not subjects of the Crown, care if
the Brits wish to keep up appearances?

I've made my arguments for a monarchy many times on this forum. I hate the fact it's ceremonial and that the Queen has no real power. Tried to change that in the last election, but because this country is so obviously not a democracy, I had no chance of making my voice heard.

Nope, he's still Heir Apparent

so you want to go back to a time when kings and queens could do as they pleased and peasants were walked upon by aristocrats? :x

If I were British, I would call you traitor to the nation.
on second thought I will just ignore you, you obvious know too little about your nation's history to be able to make any judgement of what the government type should be.

Yeah, because current politicians are bound by moral codes like the American Constitution which prevents them from being assholes

The reason I want the Queen to rule is because she, as well as Charles, William et al seem to actually care about us peasants, as opposed to parliament. Really, can you see David Cameron putting on a huge concert, with the biggest names in the past 60 years, for FREE? It's a real shame the royals are unable to do much more than that.

Also, if you want a wardrobe built, are you going to get it from a guy who has only just gone into the profession after a few years at college, or are you going to get it from the guy who has been born into a long line of carpenters?

Sure, they could easily abuse their powers, but the same can be said of ANYONE you give that responsibility to [godwin]Hitler[/godwin]

The Doctor is an ignorant monarchist who wants to bow and scrape to a family of old parasites. The vast majority of British people couldn't care less about the royal events and are just glad to get another holiday.
