The Swiss truly do have it down right and how it was originally intended to be by our founders, IMO. Too many Americans own firearms, and drive fast cars for that matter, that simply do not know how to handle them properly, and with respect.

I can understand the "cause of concern". I mean... What person, in their rightful mind, walks down the street with a gun in hand? A person hell bent on showing how "unreasonable" the police are. I need to piont out that I have seen the full footage vid of this encounter. The man had a
bolt action rifle slung over his shoulder and the weapon was not loaded, so he was not a
threat.

As for cops, you have good ones and bad ones. I do not sleep better knowing cops are out
there. When the bad guys want you the cops won't be around .to save you, but they do deter
crime in general to an extent, of that there is no doubt. Concealed weapons are both better
and won't get people upset. Its too bad that so many people are so scared of firearms.

The US has many gun laws. If you stay away from the gang infested parts of the major cities
you would not likely have any likelyhood of being shot nor even see a gun Getting hit by an
incompetant driver would be 10000 times more likely, since getting a license to drive is so
easy to do here.

This has become the plain simple truth these days. There was a time when police were
much more respected, but those days are long gone now. I wouldn't trust most cops
unless I knew them well and I am not alone by a long shot in that notion. They have earned
the distrust of millions of Americans, particularly since SWAT teams became commonplace.

There's good and bad in every walk of life pretty much, almost every profession.

I've had both pleasant and negative encounters with authorities, some I'd trust, some I wouldn't.

There's the few who generally care about the well-being of fellow citizens, while others just care about power and abuse the power trip, somewhat like bullying.
