If you enacted a similar experiment with guys you'd get similar results.
This is not a phenomenon exclusive to women.
I also do not think you can generalize to all women based on a small sample size of internet daters.

I disagree, and i don't need to do an experiment to prove it, it is well known that average looking women get more attention than average looking men because we aren't so picky
And it was a 2 month experiment, I messaged well over a thousand different women, different areas, it's all the proof i need, not that I didn't know already

You don't need internet dating to see this. Almost everyday on the subway I see cute, classy dressed women with their scruffy, backwards hat, pants below their knees, douchey men. But it goes both ways, as men we can make some poor decisions when choosing women. The fake blonde with giant tits gets far more attention because of her appearance.

I don't think men are less "picky" than women, yes genetically we are designed to get our sperm into any (and as many) vaginas as possible in order to pass on our genes. That doesn't mean we as men will go after an ugly woman though. I think it's just that men's attraction function is a bit less complex and, yes, tuned to have a bit of a larger scope of what is attractive.

What I find in my experience with women, and I've dealt with it for years with my best friend who could say anything and women would lap it up while I say the same thing and the response is stunned silence and why are you such a creeper. I think a woman's response, positive or negative, to flirtatious somewhat cocky conversation is predicated on if they find you physically attractive. I find they unconsciously giggle at the 'hot' dude saying douchey things because they are physically attracted to him while are turned off by the guy they are NOT attracted to whether they are aware of it or not.
