Has anyone tried 'em? I'm on a course at the moment because I have had the month from HELL. You disolve a tablet the size of Pittsburg in about 200ml of water and neck it down once a day. I've heard that lack of vitamin B can be a cause of depresion, but WTF do I know?

Vitamins are generally a good thing and LS should consume an above average dose of them IMO.

Basically, if your body is predisposed to anxiety and depression, you should give it every advantage it can get. Another good thing I've been trying lately that seems to work is L-theanine (hat tip scorpioblue). It's in green tea and the vitamin water called "relaxed."

I'm constantly researching natural, low toxicity ways of reducing anxiety and increasing mental clarity. I'm willing to bet at least 75% of people on this forum suffer from problems related to physiological anxiety, 25% extremely so.

You say it seems to work, so can you give more details? You've started to feel more confident or what? You see, I always drink a lot of green tea, but it seems freaking irrelevant to the anxiety problem :?

I'm drinking the vitamin water which basically has some Suntheanine brand theanine put into it. You can get suntheanine in pill form which is probably more concentrated. It doesn't influence my social anxiety much but I definitely feel much more at ease when I'm alone. I'm still in the phase of ratcheting up the dosage so I'll report what happens after I do so.

Also, theanine is certainly relevant to anxiety, as it influences GABA, a calming chemical that benzodiazepines like valium and xanax boost the level of. Alcohol also influence GABA.

So far, theanine has worked better than anything else I've tried. Most other stuff has disastrous side effects, dramatically worsening things after making them only slightly better for a short period of time. But then that's me and my body is a little odd this way.

I'd say if you can handle it, go for more potent stuff like valerian.
